  • Broner has been arrested for DUI
  • Broner continues career freefall
  • Broner has not won a boxing match since 2017

Adrien Broner is in trouble again. The 30-year-old was reportedly arrested in Miami last Friday on suspicion of being under the influence (DUI). It was the latest unfortunate debacle for the pug who was once considered as a promising boxer.

According to a report from TMZ Sports, Broner was pulled over by authorities Friday night in Miami Beach at around 8:45 p.m. The police believed The Problem was under the influence and immediately placed him under arrest. Broner was taken to a nearby police station and was awake long enough for a mug shot. A $1,000 bond was set but the former boxing champion is on an eight-hour hold. He can only get out by 4:00 a.m. on Saturday.

It was another forgettable episode in the life of Broner who was once seen as a great prospect in boxing. He used to be under the tutelage of Floyd Mayweather Jr. and seemed primed for greatness. Unfortunately, his antics outside the ring have brought him down and it appears the freefall will continue.

Before the DUI case, Broner has had a lot of legal issues on his end. That includes sexually assaulting multiple women, assaulting people in public and getting sued for not paying jewelry debts.

In the boxing ring, he has not won a bout since February 2017. The last time Broner was seen in the ring was against Manny Pacquiao on Jan. 19, 2019. Before that, he settled for a draw with Jessie Vargas on Apr. 21, 2018. He also lost to Mikey Garcia via unanimous decision on July 29, 2017.

The last time Broner won was against Adrian Granados via split decision on Feb. 18, 2017. Perhaps the most memorable win he had was against Khabib Allakhverdiev on Oct. 3, 2015. That TKO win earned him the WBA light welterweight title. 'Lil Brother' also had that win over Shawn Porter (UD) on June 20, 2015.

Speaking of trouble, Broner was also arrested recently in Las Vegas during the Tyson Fury vs. Deontay Wilder fight. He was escorted out of the MGM Grand in Las Vegas and arrested on one count of misdemeanor trespassing. Apparently, Broner had a previous issue that dates way back to the Canelo Alvarez vs. Sergey Kovalev fight. According to Boxingscene.com, the arrest warrant for Broner was due to his reaction to a boxing fan, David Gonzalez, alleging the boxer struck him in the right hand and thus knocking his cell phone. Ironically, Broner was already about to remove from the premises due to intoxication - the same issue that recently got him into trouble now.
