Jake and Logan Paul have given boxing a different kind of flavor, something that has drawn divided reception.

But as far as six-division world champion Oscar De La Hoya, the Paul brothers are great for the sport of boxing.

A reason for this is that the Paul brothers have added a new dimension, bringing in a different kind of attention to boxing.

Both have been challenging non-boxers to face them in the ring, a move that has gathered positive and negative feedback.

De La Hoya pointed out how Jake and Logan have helped the sport. He singled out the declining ratings and the fact that the fanbase is diminishing when he spoke to ABC 7.

"It's not really on the face of it, but when you have stars like Jake and Logan Paul bringing a whole new fanbase to boxing, I embrace it one thousand percent. Now kids are coming up to me in the street because of them, now they know who Oscar De La Hoya is and Manny Pacquiao is as these YouTubers are bringing kids into the sport through their platform and through social media. So I embrace it always definitely, yes," De La Hoya stated.

Ironically, the “Golden Boy” is set to return the ring for the first time since 2008. He is set to face mixed martial arts fighter, Vitor Belfort, in a sanctioned match on September 11 at the Staples Center in Los Angeles, California.

Of the Paul brothers, Logan was the one who faced a legitimate boxer in Floyd Mayweather Jr. in an exhibition.

Although the contest ended in a draw, it still gained a huge following. That pay-per-view held in June generated over a million purchases.

As for Jake, he continues to challenge athletes from different sports. The 24-year-old is set to test Tyron Woodley on August 29 at the Rocket Mortgage Fieldhouse in Cleveland, Ohio with the YouTuber a favorite to prevail.
