Legendary boxing promoter Bob Arum is not a fan of Mixed Martial Arts to say the least. The Hall of Famer blasted the combat sport and called it trash, even going as far as criticizing the UFC, its fighters, and fans.

The 88-year-old spoke on Ariel Helwani's MMA Show and threw undaunted jabs towards the fellow fight sport.

"As far as I'm concerned, (MMA's) trash," Arum said. "I don't like it. I don't like to watch it."

"I'm not going to say that this is a sport that I love, because I don't," Arum added. "It really does nothing for me."

The Top Rank Promotions founder, though, lauded the people behind the success of the sport, especially the UFC which is its premier promotion company.

But a previous interview by Helwani in 2009 showed Arum serving some tongue-lashing towards the UFC, tagging the fighters under its umbrella as "guys rolling around like homosexuals."

He initially compared the attributes of Boxing fans to that of MMA before generalizing the latter as "garbage and junk."

"For me, I look at the UFC audience and the Boxing audience as being two different audiences entirely," he said. "UFC (fans) are a bunch of skinhead white guys watching people in the ring who are also looking like skinhead white guys."

"For me, and people like me, (MMA) is not something that they ever care to see. They watched it, it's horrible." he continued. "It is not a sport that shows great great talent. Guys who throw punches can't throw a punch to save their a**. When the punches land, the guys have no chance. These are not like boxers. They are not trained like boxers."

Arum takes pride in being one of the persons behind the success of boxing greats such as Muhammad Ali, Sugar Ray Leonard, Oscar de la Hoya, Floyd Mayweather and Manny Pacquiao. He was inducted to the Hall in 1999 and has his promotions company running since 1973.
