Boy, 15, Shot Dead At High School Party By Suspect Who Was Kicked Out
A 15-year-old boy was shot and killed at a high school party that was attended by hundreds of teenagers in Georgia. Cops reportedly said the shooter was kicked out of the party before returning with an accomplice.
The incident occurred Saturday night at a building in Morrow, Clayton County police said. Students from different high schools in Atlanta had gathered at the venue before the 15-year-old's death, 11Alive News reported.
One of the partygoers was kicked out and removed from the venue at some point. The same person later returned armed along with another suspect and fired multiple rounds into the location of the party. The 15-year-old boy was killed in the gunfire, officials said.
Responding officers found the teenager dead with an apparent gunshot wound at the entrance of the venue.
"Hundreds of teenagers were seen fleeing the scene" when cops arrived, the police department said.
A "party was held at the location where students from all metro Atlanta high schools were in attendance," investigators said following the shooting, as quoted by Atlanta News First. "An individual was removed from the party and returned with an accomplice and shot multiple rounds into the building killing a 15-year-old."
Officials did not immediately release the identity of the teen victim.
Business owners in the area told a Channel 2 Action News reporter that parties are frequently held at the venue. They said the ground is often littered with trash left behind by the partygoers, and also revealed that cars were broken into on previous occasions. However, they did not expect such parties to end with someone being fatally shot.
The circumstances surrounding the shooting and the teenager's death are still being investigated.
A similar incident was reported in September after a 28-year-old man in the Philippines hacked his partner to death after throwing a birthday party for their son at home. Jimmy Genobiagon Artelahon allegedly had an argument with his partner, Jelly Joy Coscos, 20, after guests left the party. When Coscos threatened to leave with their child, Artelahon cut her in her head and back among other parts of her body. He surrendered himself to the police after hacking Coscos to death.
