Jackie Chan paid tribute to Brad Allan after the action choreographer's death was confirmed Saturday. He was 48 years old.

Though the cause of death of the veteran stuntman was not revealed, Chan said his JC Stunt team member died due to illness.

"I never imagined that just a few days later, today, I received another unbelievable and heartbreaking news," Chan wrote on his personal website. "A fourth-generation JC Stunt team member, Bradley James Allan, also passed away from illness."

Chan recalled the first time he met Allan on the sets of "Mr. Nice Guy."

"At that time, he was crazy about Chinese Kung Fu and had practiced it for many years," Chan praised Allan. "It was because of his amazing skills and talent, he transformed from being a fan to a stuntman, and eventually joined my JC Stunt Team."

The actor also recalled a fighting scene he shot with Allan in the 1999 action-comedy movie "Gorgeous."

"He even fought with me in 'Gorgeous,' and I think a lot of people remember this skillful boxer in the movie. He has also contributed to many of my movies," Chan noted. "Over the years, he's made masterpieces that has amazed many people in film industry, including 'Kingsman' film series, 'Wonder Woman' and many others, making him a very well known action choreographer in Hollywood, and also an excellent role model to many action stars."

In his blog post, the actor also recalled another JC Stunt team member, Yang Sheng, who died on July 28. He also shared photos of the late stuntmen on Instagram.

Besides Chan, "Mortal Kombat" star Max Huang also shared a tribute to Allan on Saturday.

"Brad Allan, one of my biggest idols has passed away. So grateful to have had the chance to meet, work and learn with/from you. Your spirit will live on in our hearts. As he used to say, Jackie Chan Stunt Team FOREVER!" he wrote on Twitter.

Film director Chris Miller noting that Allan was a "super-talented" stuntman.

Chan will be next seen in the action thriller movie "Project X-Traction," which is currently under post-production.
