Brad Pitt And His Commitment After Calling It Quits With Angelina Jolie
There were several alleged reasons why Brad Pitt and Angelina Jolie’s divorced but one in particular stood out. But soon after their devastating split, the “Ad Astra” actor had reportedly committed to do something about it.
From alleged cheating to differences in parenting styles, people had been speculating on what’s the cause of downfall of Pitt and Jolie’s marriage. But the couple filed their divorce in 2016 after the unfortunate plane encounter of Pitt and their son, Maddox. There were reports which surfaced claiming that at that time, the actor was allegedly drunk.
Several rumors came out that Pitt had suffered from alcohol abuse. Apparently, after the split, the 55-year-old actor sought help from Alcohol Anonymous. In his interview with New York Times, Pitt admitted to his commitment in sobriety.
Pitt told the publication that he already removed his drinking privileges, Harper’s Bazaar reported. He revealed having sessions with his recovery group composed of men. Their honesty, openness and vulnerability had reportedly made Pitt feel like it was a safe place.
Trust is very important in Pitt’s recovery group and what made this set of men far more special than other is that none of them leaked the actor’s stories in tabloids. Pitt reportedly spent a year and a half in AA after his divorce with Jolie.
Pitt underwent a tremendous amount of realization after that sad event. He learned how freeing it was to expose the other side of your personality in a place where there were little to none judgment.
Alcoholics Anonymous is, by far, the largest and oldest alcohol support group in the entire world. This global organization was, reportedly, established to help alcoholics maintain being sober. The aim of AA is to help others return to a life which is productive while enriching the lessons taught during the treatment. To be a part of this group was something Pitt reportedly valued.
Pitt and Jolie were together for 12 years with only 2 years of marriage.
They have six children: Maddox, who is now in South Korea for college, Pax, Zahara, Shiloh, Knox and Vivienne.
The rumors and controversy about the former couple continued even after the separation but the two had focused on their own respective lives, as well as their careers. In fact, both have incoming movies: “Maleficent 2” for Jolie and “Ad Astra” for Pitt.
Kudos to Pitt for making such life-changing decision. A lot of fans were happy and wished he would stand by his commitment.
