KEY POINTS

  • Brad Pitt made a cameo in "Deadpool 2" as The Vanisher which earned $785 million
  • The highest earning fim he starred in was "World War Z"
  • He recently won a SAG award for "Once Upon a Time in Hollywood"

Brad Piit’s net worth is around $300 million. Not suprising. The award-winning actor’s highest earning movie, on the other hand, may surprise you.

Although Pitt has only had a cameo on "Deadpool 2," the movie went on to make $785 million worldwide, making it the 9th highest grossing film in 2018. It also became the highest grossing film of X-Men in the process. Pitt appeared in the movie as The Vanisher. Although his appearance was only brief, it added glitz to the movie who starred Ryan Reynolds.

Pitt was paid by a cup of coffee delivered by Reynolds. That goes on to say he did it for free, per Economic Times. Reynolds was very grateful for his co-star’s selflessness. What makes Pitt one of the highest earners in the industry and most-awarded actors in his generation is that he is immensely talented and is also not afraid to share his talents whenever needed.

He recently won a Golden Globe and SAG Award for his Best Supporting Actor role in "Once Upon a Time in Hollywood" helmed by Quentin Tarantino.

Things are looking up for him this year, starting the 2020 with a few awards and with four projects in the pipeline for his own production company, Plan B. His production company was responsible for award-winning movies such as "The Departed", "12 Years a Slave" and "Moonlight."

The former husband of Jennifer Aniston only eclipsed the $20 million pay for the movie "Mr. & Mrs. Smith" in 2005. On the other hand, his compensation varied per project such as in "Inglorious Basterds" where he received $10 million. Sometimes, he accepts a part of the revenue just like what happened in "Ocean’s Eleven" where he was only paid $10 million but ended up with $30 million from the film’s box office earnings.

The highest movie Pitt starred in was "World War Z," which made more than $500 million worldwide. "Troy" comes in second with $497.41 million earnings. The list also includes "Mr. and Mrs. Smith," which featured ex-wife Angelina Jolie, and "Ocean’s Eleven" which boasted an all-star lineup of George Clooney, Matt Damon and Julia Roberts.

Aside from starring in and producing movies, Pitt also earns from endorsements. So far, he represented or appeared in projects for Chanel No. 5, Heineken, Studio City Casino, Edwin Jeans, Honda and Cadillac. With his immense popularity not going anytime soon, expect more international companies, especially in Asia, to knock on his doors for potential collaborations.
