Brad Pitt Releases New Genderless Skincare Line 'Le Domaine' Inspired By Wine, Grapes
Brad Pitt has launched Le Domaine, an all-gender natural skincare company. The news was announced in a press released Thursday and after the famed American actor divulged details in an interview with Vogue.
The company is a joint venture between Pitt and the Perrin family, who are organic wine growers in the Southern Rhone Valley in Southern France. Le Domaine was inspired by the family's vineyard, Provence. Pitt said he was motivated by the natural beauty of the vineyard.
The company offers two unique antioxidant compounds that it patented as the most potent type available from grapes. According to the company website, the core of the product is the "potent combinaton of exclusive active ingredients GSM10 and ProGR3."
The two patented compounds were researched for 10 years by Professor Pierre-Louis Teissedre from Bordeaux University.
GSM10 is made from a combination of marcs from grenache seeds along with syrah seeds and is described as being able to work on skin balancing.
ProGR3 works on "progerin toxicity" and is made from molecules found in plant extracts, vine cuttings, chamomile and green tea, according to the website.
Pitt explained in an interview with Vogue on Wednesday that the company does not want to discourage aging but to rather have a healthier outlook on it.
"I don't want to be running from aging. It's a concept we can't escape, and I would like to see our culture embracing it a bit more, talking about it in those terms," Pitt said.
The company states that it has accomplished this by offering a new type of natural skincare with its research.
The products prices ranges from $80-385.
"The goal is to imitate the organic cycles of nature, its primeval beauty. There is no waste in nature. Anything left over or discarded becomes food for something else. This exemplary circular system is the inspiration for Le Domaine," the website states.
