Bristol Palin to Star in New Reality TV Show on Lifetime called 'Life's a Tripp'
Bristol Palin is slated to star in a new reality TV show on Lifetime called Bristol Palin: Life's A Tripp
The scandal-ridden daughter of fellow reality TV show star (and former vice presidential candidate, governor and helicopter hunter Sarah Palin), will be the subject of a new Lifetime channel docuseries all about her personal life, according to USA Today.
Lifetime has picked up the show, which will give viewers an inside look at Bristol Palin's life as a single mom raising her young daughter, Tripp, and forging her own way in the world while living under the constant spotlight as a member of one of America's most high-profile families, the paper reported Wednesday.
Lifetime stated Wednesday that it will have never-before-granted access to Bristol Palin's Alaska personal life, USA Today wrote, which it will document and air later this year in the form of 10 half-hour TV episodes.
From the first moment she was thrust into the public eye, Bristol and her son have been the subjects of a huge amount of curiosity and misunderstanding, Rob Sharenow, executive vice president for programming at Lifetime Networks, told Entertainment Weekly in a statement. This show will reveal the real Bristol Palin and her journey as a daughter, a mother and a young woman making her way in the world.
Bristol Palin, now 21 years old, gave birth to her daughter Tripp in December 2008, shortly after Barack Obama and Joe Biden beat out John McCain and Sarah Palin in the 2008 presidential race that catapulted the whole Palin clan into the national spotlight.
Since her daughter was born, Bristol Paln has published a best-selling book called Not Afraid of Life: My Journey So Far, and came in third in the fall 2010 season of ABC's Dancing with the Stars.
Bristol Palin was engaged to boyfriend Levi Johnston, with whom she had Tripp, but they broke off their relationship in 2009. She has gone on to be an advocate for the pro-life movement and to speak out on other issues.
