Those who dared cut off Adele in the middle of her speech at the Brit Music Awards regretted it after the singer's completely unladylike behavior in response to that.

Adele, who won two awards at the ceremony held in London found herself in the middle of a controversy soon after her act on live TV. Her speech was interrupted after she picked up the prize for the best British album of the year. She also won the best British Female Artist Award that was presented by George Michael.

She was full throttle in the middle of her emotional acceptance speech about how proud she was to receive the honor, when she was interrrupted by show host James Corden in order to introduce the final perfomers. Adele, who won the Album of the Year, flipped her lid at the interruption and, to make her displeasure apparent, flipped the bird at the crowd. Her gesture was visible on the live ITV1 coverage for only a moment. But that was enough for the audience to boo the host of the show, according to Mail Online. Adele then added: Can I just say, then, goodbye and I'll see you next time round. Adele sure had some explaining to do after the gesture on stage, and she said: I was about to thank the British public for their support and they cut me off, and I'm sorry if I offended anyone, she said. But the suits offended me, so thank you very much for all of your support, reported music-mix.ew.com.

I flung the middle finger. That was for the suits at the Brit Awards, not my fans. I'm sorry if I offended anyone but the suits offended me, she added, according to BBC.

While accepting the Best Album of the Year award, Adele had said: Nothing makes me prouder than coming home with six Grammys and then coming to the Brits and winning album of the year. I'm so proud to be British and to be flying our flag.

Her flipping the bird gesture was visible on the live TV for just a second but was met with cheers by the audience, said Mail Online. Adele then added: Can I just say, then, goodbye and I'll see you next time round.

According to her record label, the London singer's second album 21 has sold 17 million copies around the world and hit number the one spot in 24 countries.

I was about to thank the British public for all their support but they cut me off. So thank you very much for all your support. It's amazing, the star was quoted as saying backstage later by BBC report.

So why was Adele actually interrupted? ITV later issued a statement apologizing for what happened. They said: The Brits is a live event. Unfortunately the programme was over-running and we had to move on. We would like to apologize to Adele for the interruption, the report said.

Also, a Brits spokesman apologized for cutting off Adele's big moment. He also added that they don't want this to undermine her incredible achievement and what has been an incredible year for her.
