British Photographer Captures Great White Sharks Up Close And Personal

British photographer Euan Rannachan took his talent to a whole new level when he took photos of a great white sharks, and he did it up close and personal.

Rannachan’s images were, hands down, extraordinary. The 34-year-old artist managed to capture the mega fish almost smiling in front of the camera, but there is more to his pictures than meets the eye.

While some of his photos showed that the shark was almost smiling, Rannachan wanted his viewers to see a bigger picture. According to The Sun, his efforts came with an urge for people to break the stigma that great white sharks are man eaters.

Instead of fearing them, Rannachan said that we ought to respect these animals and forget about what Hollywood had created them: monstrous creatures capable of eating anything and everything in its path.

For some, Ranachan might have had nerves of steel to pull off something as audacious as his photos. He is fascinated by these beasts, yes, but this came out fear, like most people. In its, his passion to know more about these mega fishes was born.

“These muscle and teeth-laden grey buses are actually quite friendly,” he said.

It’s not every day that one will meet a person who will say that sharks are friendly, but Rannachan continued that they too are “extremely curious and playful” creatures.

“I never felt in danger at all.”

Rannachan took the photos while diving inside a cage off Guadeloupe Island in Mexico. While inside and submerged 10 feet underwater, the photographer claimed that the sharks were actually peaceful.

“I could see they weren’t interested in eating me,” he added as he described his feeling when a huge 17-foot great white shark passed by his cage.

His photos, which can be accessed through his Twitter and Instagram accounts, have mixed emotions towards people. He said that 90 percent would tell him that he’s crazy to risk life and limb just to capture these images.

Still, his brush with one of the world’s most feared predators holds a special place in his heart, and it is something that he wanted to share with the world.

“Being literally face-to-face with a great white shark is something everyone should experience once in their lives.”

For Rannachan, sharks have a natural tendency to confuse people. Some love them, while others hate them for one reason or another. At the end of the day, one has an opinion about these creatures.
