Britney Spears accused of ripping off The Bellamy Brothers on Hold It Against Me
The British Daily Mail is reporting that Britney Spears is facing a multi-million dollar lawsuit accused of ripping-off song lyrics for her new single, Hold It Against Me.
Britney is accused of plagiarizing the rock ballad if I Said You Had A Beautiful Body Would You Hold It Against Me? by the Bellamy Brothers.
The country singers claim that Britney's song is way too close to their own 1979 hit that topped the charts in six countries. The brothers, David and Howard Bellamy, are set to meet with lawyers, according to The Daily Mail.
Howard and I have no personal beef with Britney. She is a talented gal. But professionally we feel completely ripped off, said David to The Daily Mail. We will without doubt take the appropriate legal action if our attorneys agree we've been ripped off.
Britney's spokesman responded to the paper saying, If this is now a legal matter than I am afraid we would have nothing to say until our lawyers have been alerted.
Britney premiered the music video for Hold It Against Me a few days ago. The futuristic music video features well-choreographed dance routines, edgy camera work and Britney's signature dance beats.
