Britney Spears' Dad Accused Of Abuse By Kevin Federline, 'Active Investigation' Underway
Britney Spears' dad, Jamie Spears, has been hit with a new accusation from Kevin Federline. According to the "Toxic" singer's ex-husband, Jamie, 61, been abusive to one of his grandsons, which has prompted an "active investigation" to begin.
According to TMZ, law enforcement sources have revealed that the alleged incident in question occurred on Aug. 24 at Jamie's residence in Ventura County. As stated by the TV personality, both his 13-year-old son and Spears got into a physical altercation, which ended up with Jamie putting his hands on the child.
"Britney had the boys at Jamie's condo on the evening of August 24. Jamie and Sean Preston got into an argument. Sean Preston felt unsafe and locked himself into a room. Jamie broke into the room and shook Sean Preston," an insider told Us Weekly regarding the incident. However, the extent of what took place remains to be seen as the authorities have not publicly verified that information yet and there reportedly were no visible injuries to the child.
The former backup dancer was disturbed enough by the incident to report it to Ventura County Sheriff's Department the following day on Aug. 25.

Additionally, Federline, 41, and his attorney Mark Vincent Kaplan went to court on Aug. 27 to obtain an emergency restraining order against Jamie. The order was granted without opposition and "prohibits the grandfather from coming near Preston and his brother, Jayden James, 12, for three years," per Us. The order also states that an adult that Federline "approves of must be present whenever Preston and Jayden are with Britney," revealed a source.
As for how the "...Baby One More Time" singer is handling the situation, she is said to be "very upset," according to an insider who spoke to RadarOnline. They went on to add that Britney "probably won't ever speak to him again" and that the "Crossroads" actress may use this as a tool to get out from her conservatorship.
It has been said that investigators have already interviewed witnesses and turned their findings over to the D.A.'s office. It is now up to the D.A. as to whether or not Jamie will be formally charged with a crime. At this time, Sgt. Marta Bugarin stated that investigators plan to submit their final findings to the Ventura County District Attorney's Office on Wed., Sept. 4.
