Britney Spears Is Ready To Marry But Dad Says ‘No’

While Britney Spears may be ready to get married to boyfriend Sam Asghari, her father may not be ready to give the couple his well wishes.

Jamie Spears, who has had control over his daughter’s finance since 2007, is demanding that Britney put a stop to the marriage plans, all because he thinks her boyfriend Sam, 25, is out to get the $200 million fortune she has amassed, Radar Online reported.

“Britney wants to marry Sam and have another baby, but her father says no!” a source for the news outlet said.

The issues with the proposal stem deeper as Jamie has a conservatorship over Britney, and can prevent her from tying the knot if he doesn’t approve. The conservatorship goes back to a meltdown incident that Britney had in 2007, where she shaved her head and went off to rehab to recover.

Jamie could argue that Britney is incompetent to make such a decision or give proper consent to the marriage with Sam. Complicating matters is the failing health of Britney’s dad, which could allow Sam to contend that he has been caring for Britney rather than Jamie.

If Britney went ahead with the nuptials without the consent of her father, the marriage would be ordered illegal, which is creating a situation that the Radar Online source said is “a mess.”

Britney has been married twice before meeting Sam. She married a childhood friend, Jason Alexander, in 2004 and had the marriage annulled. She then married Kevin Federline, also in 2004. She has two sons with Federline.
