Britney Spears got candid about her freedom in an Instagram post just a day after announcing her engagement.
The "Toxic" singer took to Instagram Monday and shared screenshots of "infusing education with heart." In the caption, she explained why she shared it.
"I had to repost this so you can see the whole article!!!!!" she wrote.
"Growing up in a world where basically almost everything I did was controlled by someone else … I hope this message gets to people who have been confused or manipulated by a system!!!! No … you’re not alone and no … you’re not crazy!!!! People need to hear this before it’s TOO LATE!!!!"
She continued, "I’ve waited 13 years and counting for my freedom!!!!! Again … team #FreeBritney you guys f–king kick ass!!!!! Love you so much and God bless!!!!"
The article Spears shared encouraged children to embrace their curiosity instead of only accepting the knowledge taught to them. The post came just a day after she announced her engagement to her now-fiancé, Sam Asghari. However, it's no longer accessible because Spears has deleted her Instagram account.
Over the weekend, the pop princess shared several photos and a video of her engagement ring. In the clip, Asghari asked her, "Look at that. Do you like it?" "Yes!" she replied.
Asghari's talent manager, Brandon Cohen of BAC Talent, also confirmed the engagement news.
"The couple made their long-standing relationship official today and are deeply touched by the support, dedication and love expressed to them," he said in a statement to Page Six.
Spears received a "one-of-a-kind" engagement ring from Asghari. He worked with Forever Diamonds NY founder and master jeweler Roman Malayev for a custom ring for Spears. The sparkler features a 4-carat round brilliant stone in a platinum cathedral setting and is enhanced with a floating solitaire design. It also has pavé detailing on the bridge and flush set diamonds on the prongs and basket.
To make it more personal for the couple, Asghari added his nickname for Spears, "Lioness," engraved inside the band.
An unnamed source told Page Six that Asghari wanted to spoil Spears with a "very special, over-the-top and meaningful proposal." The tipster added that both want to have kids in the future.
