Brittany Murphy's House in the Hills in Foreclosure
Deceased actress in the Hills above the Sunset Strip in Los Angeles, CA has invited foreclosure and has been slapped with a Notice of Sale with an opening bid of $4,035,666, according to the reports.
The Murphy's mother still has the opportunity to stop the foreclosure by catching up on defaulted payments or paying off the entire loan balance, which is usually achieved by refinancing or selling the property.
According to the listing in homefinder.com and RealTrac.com, the home, is in extraordinary Mediterranean estate with stunning city views. Perfectly nestled at the end of a private cul-de-sac. 8,000 square feet space on 1.29 acres boasts soaring ceilings, formal dining room, gourmet kitchen, large living room, formal dining room, gourmet kitchen, French doors opening to pool and gardens overlooking the city.
Brittany bought the four story residence for $3,850,000 in June 2003 from Britney Spears. The single family home also has incredible master suite, gym, office, motor court, four car garage and several additional amenities. After Murphy's death, her husband British screenwriter Simon Monjack and her mother Sharon Murphy continued to live in the house.
In March 2010, the home was listed on the market for sale price of $7,250,000. According to the reports on tmz.com, Monjack said that once the house sold he and Sharon planned to move to New York.
The listing was withdrawn within 2 months because Monjack has died of acute pneumonia and severe anemia.
Murphy's house reappeared on the market this week with a new, much lower and probably far more realistic asking price of $4,995,000, remarked RealtyTrac. According to the records, the notice of sale was recorded on January 10, 2011 that scheduled a public sale of the property on January 31.
Murphy is said to have left her entire estate to her mother, Sharon, through a holographic(handwritten) will.
