Brock Lesnar Vs Roman Reigns: This 3-Time Champion Predicts WWE SummerSlam Winner
KEY POINTS
- SummerSlam will take place on July 30 at Nissan Stadium
- Roman Reigns is the current Undisputed WWE and Universal Champion
- He unified the titles by beating Brock Lesnar at WrestleMania 38
Former WWE champion Bill Goldberg on Thursday predicted the winner of the much-awaited fight between Roman Reigns and Brock Lesnar at SummerSlam 2022.
Reigns and Lesnar are set to face off in the Last Man Standing fight at the SummerSlam, dubbed "the Biggest Party of the Summer," which is scheduled to take place on July 30 at Nissan Stadium in Nashville, Tennessee.
Three-time champion Goldberg's last WWE fight was against Reigns for the Universal Championship at the Elimination Chamber earlier this year in Jeddah, Saudi Arabia. It was the Tribal Chief who emerged victorious at the Jeddah Superdome. Reigns then went on to become an Undisputed Universal and WWE Champion by beating Lesnar at WrestleMania 38 in April.
The SummerSlam fight would reportedly bring curtains down on Lesnar and Reigns' iconic rivalry in the WWE.
Goldberg, who was a two-time Universal Champion, compared Lesnar to himself, saying nobody ever knows when he and the Beast Incarnate would explode in the ring.
"I've got to with the big boy, I've got to go with Brock. You never know what is going to happen when Brock gets in the ring with anybody, let alone Roman. We've seen it a couple of times but no matter how many times we've seen those two go at it, there's always going to be something new," Goldberg said on the "Football Morning" show Thursday.
"What I like about Brock is that he's like me, you never know when he's going to explode or not. So, even though Roman is the d-lineman that went to Georgia Tech, we had the close proximity of going to school together, he choked me out the last time we were in the ring. I have to get redemption for that. I hope and pray that Brock chokes him unconscious," the former WWE Champion added.
Having been the Universal Champion for close to 700 days now, Reigns has been the biggest source of revenue for the WWE Company in recent times.
Reigns' manager Paul Heyman has sent out a warning ahead of the former's clash with Lesnar at SummerSlam.
"TRENDING NO. 1 @WWE #SummerSlam @WWERomanReigns @BrockLesnar I can't say this is a prediction. Nor even a spoiler. But it is sure as hell is a warning," Heyman tweeted.
