Brooks Koepka vs. Bryson DeChambeau Match: Start Time, TV Channel, Odds For 2021 Golf Event
The fifth edition of “The Match” is set to take place on Thanksgiving weekend. Golf’s top rivalry takes center stage when Brooks Koepka and Bryson DeChambeau go head-to-head.
The one-on-one golf event starts Friday at 4 p.m. ET from the Wynn Golf Club in Las Vegas. TNT, TBS and HLN will all broadcast the match. Viewers can also watch a live stream with WatchTNT.
Neither PGA Tour star is given much of an edge. DeChambeau is technically a slight betting favorite with -116 odds at FanDuel Sportsbook. The Match is virtually a toss-up, considering Koepka has -112 odds to be victorious.
DeChambeau is No. 7 in the world golf rankings. Koepka sits at No. 16 the week of the event. The latter has missed the cut at two straight tournaments, hoping to find his stroke in Las Vegas.
"I've been playing bad for so long, so I'm just trying to play my way out of this thing and figure it out,'' Koepka said earlier this month, via ESPN. "Hopefully we come out on the other side soon.''
Koepka has failed to finish in the top 20 in eight straight tournaments.
This marks just the second time that The Match is strictly a head-to-head competition between a pair of professional golfers. Phil Mickelson needed 22 holes to defeat Tiger Woods when the event first began on the day after Thanksgiving in 2018.
“I think it will be historic and it will be the first time a real rivalry, other than Tiger and Phil, comes to hopefully a bit of a conclusion, or maybe it won’t,” DeChambeau said, via Sports Illustrated. “This is the first time where it's really been hyped up to this level and where there has been a disdain for each other. Maybe we'll be able to have a rivalry kind of bashed out on the golf course. It’s not going to be a boxing match, but it'll definitely be something to be seen, for sure.”
In July, DeChambeau teamed up with Green Bay Packers quarterback Aaron Rodgers to defeat Mickelson and Tampa Bay Buccaneers quarterback Tom Brady.
