Bruno Mars Gay? Singer’s Rep Calls Coming-Out-Of-The-Closet Story ‘Completely Fabricated’
Is Bruno Mars gay?
On Sunday (which just so happened to be April Fool's Day), CNN iReport published an article stating that the It Will Rain singer came out of the closet as gay during an interview with a Chicago radio station.
The singer's name began trending on Twitter shortly after CNN iReport published the story, according to GossipCop, and continued to circulate on social media through Monday. The CNN report said, The famous pop-star Bruno Mars admits his homosexuality.
Bruno Mars is gay? Is this true? If so I'm really not shocked, posted Twitter user @AllDaysAreNight. Bruno Mars comes out as gay like seriously, i [sic] can also write an article Michael Jackson still alive, sharing a house with Elvis Presley, wrote user Ania Mars-Minogilera.
GossipCop said an unidentified second media outlet jumped on the Bruno Mars gay story, claiming that the singer admitted to a small Chicago radio station that he was gay under the guise of an April Fools' Day test and then for real.
The timing is bad. I hadn't realized it was April Fool's Day, but it's been pointed out to me, and I don't want to go too public with this, Mars was quoted as saying, according to Zap2It.
However, Bruno Mars' rep told GossipCop the reports that Mars is gay are completely fabricated and false.
CNN iReport is described by Zap2It as a 'compilation of news items submitted by citizen journalism.' Essentially -- it's the Wikipedia of news reporting. Anyone can update it with stories, photos, and video.
Bruno Mars has not yet made any public comments on the gay rumors. He did, however, tweet a photo of himself in a director's chair to his 8 million-plus followers on Monday.
