Bryan Singer Rape Lawsuit: 'X-Men' Director's 'Sordid Sex Ring' With Underage Teens And 8 Other Shocking Claims In Michael Egan's Suit [DOCS]
The bombshell lawsuit Bryan Singer that accuses the “X-Men” director of repeatedly sexually abusing a 17-year-old boy claims that Singer didn’t just rape the plaintiff, but was part of a “sordid sex ring” involving influential Hollywood figures and underage boys.
Singer vehemently denied the accusations in the lawsuit filed in Hawaii federal court by now 31-year-old Michael F. Egan III, suggesting that the suit was brought forth now “in an attempt to get publicity” because the latest “X-Men” movie hits theaters May 23.
“The claims made against Bryan Singer are completely without merit,” read a statement from Singer’s attorney, Marty Singer. “We are very confident that Bryan will be vindicated in this absurd and defamatory lawsuit.”
One of Egan’s lawyer is Michael Herman, who represented five men who said they were sexually abused by Elmo puppeteer Kevin Clash when they were minors. Clash eventually resigned from “Sesame Street” and claimed the sexual encounters were consensual and that the defendants were of the age of consent.
Here are some of the shocking allegations Egan has made against Singer, according to the lawsuit, which was filed Wednesday:
1.Singer used his power as an influential director to manipulate Egan into performing sex acts on him and vice versa.
“A Hollywood mogul must not use his position to sexually exploit underage actors,” the suit says.
2.“Drugs, alcohol, threats and inducements” were used to sexually abuse Egan.
The alleged sexual assault caused Egan to suffer “catastrophic psychological and emotional injuries,” according to the suit.
3.Singer was not the only high-powered Hollywood player involved
Singer was “part of a group of adult males similarly positioned in the entertainment industry that maintained and exploited boys in a sordid sex ring,” the lawsuit claims.
4.Singer was involved in “infamous and degenerate parties” at an estate in Encino, Calif., where boys had sex with men.
“Plaintiff never freely, voluntarily, and knowingly consented to these sexual interactions, and often resisted them,” the suit says.
5.Singer allegedly plied Egan with alcohol by the estate’s Jacuzzi and forced Egan to perform oral sex on him. Egan resisted and Singer allegedly made him perform oral sex on him outside of the pool before sodomizing him.
6.Egan was flown to the Paul Mitchell estate in Hawaii, where Singer allegedly gave him cocaine, Ecstasy, Xanax, Rohypnol, pain pills and alcohol. The director allegedly promised Egan acting roles, but threatened to withdraw the offers if Egan didn’t perform sex acts.
7.During the Hawaii trip, Singer allegedly forced Egan to inhale cocaine and drink alcohol before Singer performed oral sex on Egan. He then allegedly forced Egan’s head underwater so the boy could give him oral sex. Singer then allegedly took Egan to his room and anally raped him.
8.The night after the previous allegations, Singer forced Egan to perform oral sex and anally raped Egan in the shower.
Egan “did not freely and voluntarily consent to participate in these sexual acts,” according to the suit.
9.Singer allegedly anally raped Egan three times in Hawaii
One of the instances was “so painful that plaintiff became tearful,” the suit claims.
The lawsuit does not seek a specific dollar amount in damages, but said the alleged pain caused by Singer was “an amount exceeding $75,000.” Check out the full lawsuit below:
