BTS Becomes First-Ever Korean Artist To Get Nominated For Brit Awards

K-pop group BTS has set the bars high again by becoming the first-ever South Korean act in history to get nominated for the annual Brit Awards.

The band received a nomination for the "Best International Group" category and will be competing with other artists including Foo Fighters, Run the Jewels, Haim, and Fontaines DC at the upcoming 2021 Brit Awards.

The Brit Awards is one of the most popular, high-profile music award ceremonies in the United Kingdom. It takes place annually and celebrates notable achievements in popular music, according to Soompi.

BTS' nomination was announced through their official Twitter page with the caption "The nominees for #BRITs 2021 International Group are"

The nominations for this year’s Awards ceremony were also announced through a video on their official YouTube Page.

Other world-renowned artists include Harry Styles, Dua Lipa, The Weeknd, Ariana Grande, Billie Eilish, Cardi B, Miley Cyrus, Taylor Swift, and more also received nominations for the Brit Awards 2021 under different categories.

BTS is the most popular K-pop group in the world and it continues to prove its dominance, reach and influence across the globe.

The group previously made history by becoming the first Korean act to receive a nomination at the Grammy Awards 2021.

BTS’ much-loved single "Dynamite" received a nomination in the "Best Pop Duo/Group Performance" category. The band also set the record for being the first Korean act in history to perform solo at the Grammy Award ceremony.

While BTS might have lost out on the Grammys this year, their fans, the Army, are eagerly looking forward to the Brit Awards ceremony and took to social media to express their support to the group.
