  • Jungkook recently sat in an interview with Weverse Magazine
  • He shared how sustaining success could sometimes feel like "a burden"
  • The BTS member referred to ARMY as "main characters" in their shows

BTS member Jungkook has shared his thoughts about Billie Eilish's debut album, ranking on Billboard Hot 100 chart and the group's official fandom, ARMY (Adorable Representative MC for Youth).

In an interview story published in Weverse Magazine Monday, the 23-year-old South Korean singer said he had been a trainee since the age of 13 and had worked hard to find success. However, the singer was convinced anyone could do that.

"So I keep thinking I want to make up my own original, complex story and write the songs from there," Jungkook said.

The singer further noted that Eilish's debut album, "When We All Fall Asleep, Where Do We Go?" which was released on March 29, 2019, had left a "big mark" on him.

"And it'd be nice to have a cohesive flow to the tracklist, but even if it's all jumbled up, that's fine, too," he added. "As long the good songs keep on coming."

However, when it comes to topping the Billboard charts, the singer clarified that he wasn't attached to the ranking system.

"I was never attached to rankings, but as good as it is and as happy as I am since we've kept setting records since 'Dynamite,' it also feels like a burden," Jungkook explained.

BTS' "Butter" is back at the No. 1 spot of the Billboard Hot 100 just a week after making way for the group's latest single, "Permission to Dance," Billboard announced Monday. "Butter" was able to reclaim the top spot after it dropped to the No. 7 spot in the past week.

"A huge number of people have given me recognition, so I've been going along thinking I have to work harder, but we did even better with 'Butter' than with 'Dynamite,' so I think I ended up feeling weighed down," he added. "That's what I'm like. BTS is an amazing team, but maybe my problem is that I'm not able to keep up with BTS."

Jungkook also reflected on ARMY, which he considered the "main characters" in the group's shows.

The singer explained that a concert consists of various things including "the lighting, the stage, the floor, the stage design, the video projected on the screen. Plus there's the music, the dancing, and us. Even if they're all in balance, ARMY has to be there to complete the scene."

"ARMY are the ones who bought the tickets and they're the main characters," he said further. "I think everything we focus on comes back down to ARMY. We share in each other's feelings and they're the source of our strength, and I think they have synergy with us."
