BTS Names Their Favorite Song In Entire Discography, Cites Tracks With Most Difficult Choreography
KEY POINTS
- Suga named "UGH!" his favorite song among all their other tracks
- J-Hope picked the song “OUTRO: TEAR” as his favorite BTS song
- The band found the dance for “ON,” “IDOL” and “Fake Love” difficult to perform
With over nine years in the K-pop industry, BTS has recorded several hit tracks which landed on top spots on local as well as Billboard charts. But there are a few which really made a mark on the group due to their messages and catchy melodies.
Suga, in a recent interview with Spotify, named their 2020 song, “UGH!” as his favorite song among all other songs they recorded in the past. The track belongs to the “MAP OF THE SOUL: 7” album and was sung by the group’s rap line members: RM, Suga and J-Hope. The track talks about frustration and anger which the band earlier explained as a song that mirrors their ups and downs as artists. Suga noted that they have not yet performed “UGH!” in a live setting.
For his part, J-Hope picked the song “OUTRO: TEAR” as his favorite among the rest of their songs. Written by Suga, the lyrics of the song tackled the emotions of the band as they were going through a difficult time in their career.
“The lyrics for ‘Tear’ were written for the members. When I was writing the melody, at the time, we were deeply contemplating whether we should quit or not. When I played the song for the members we all cried together,” Suga, also known as Min Yoongi said in the 6th episode of the BTS documentary film “Break the Silence” which premiered on Weverse app in 2020.
Next, Jimin picked a song composed by V, “Stigma” which talks about guilt. V asked Jimin playfully, “Isn’t that my solo track?” Jimin laughed as the two gave each other a low five which amused the other members.
Jin said he likes “Fire” among all their songs while Jungkook chose “Euphoria” which he sang solo in the band’s 2018 compilation album: “Love Yourself: Answer.”
“The song itself is so my style,” Jungkook explained.
Meanwhile, the septet also revealed the most difficult choreography they ever had to perform as a group.
BTS is known to thrive in complicated dance performances but the group admitted that the dance steps for the tracks “ON,” “IDOL” and “Fake Love” challenge them the most.
“If we have to perform 'ON' with the dance break, this is the hardest one,” Jungkook shared to which Jin disagreed and named “IDOL” as the one with the hardest choreography among all their songs.
