BTS' V Reportedly Attended BLACKPINK's Private Listening Party Amid Dating Rumors With Jennie
BTS' V and BLACKPINK vocalist Jennie Kim reportedly enjoyed a private listening event earlier this week ahead of the launch of the girl group's second full studio album.
South Korea's JTBC network reported Friday that the BTS member attended the "Born Pink" listening event at a private venue in the Seongsu district of Seoul on Wednesday.
In attendance at the exclusive event were selected friends of Jennie, Rosé, Lisa and Jisoo, including actors, singers, and celebrities who listened to the tracks ahead of the album's Friday release. The event was marked by tight security and only celebrities were let in and not their managers.
The TV network reported that this was the first time the two K-pop idols hung out together in a public setting. As the party became packed with people, V kept his distance from the 26-year-old "How You Like That" singer, it said.
The two K-pop stars are currently embroiled in dating rumors that neither they nor their entertainment agencies confirmed or denied. The rumors began when a supposed photo of V and Jennie inside a car circulated online. The said photo, which made the rounds on social media in May, showed the BTS singer driving while Jennie sat comfortably in the passenger seat. V and Jennie were said to be en route to Jeju Island. Since then, several other photos of the two stars were leaked online, though social media users are divided on their authenticity.
In August, private photos of the two stars again took Twitter by storm. One of the photos showed V tinkering with his phone while Jennie took a snap of them in front of a mirror. Another photo showed the boy band member getting ready on the make-up chair as Jennie playfully snapped a souvenir photo at the back.
Both YG Entertainment and Big Hit Music remained mum about the dating rumors.
While K-pop stars keep their romantic lives a secret to avoid backlash, many Twitter users do not seem to have any problem with Jennie and V dating.
One wrote, "Please stop the hate, let Taehyung be happy! He deserves to date whoever he wants and you have nothing to do with that! Stop this heavy hate at jennie because I'm sure that Taehyung doesn't like this at all!"
"When everyone are still in denial stage and here's V and Jennie lowkey confirming Taennie. This is not edited and not a coincidence anymore, this is reality," another said.
BLACKPINK released "Born Pink" on Friday, including its lead single, "Shut Down" and its music video on YouTube.
The quartet is set to begin their world tour on Oct.15.
