BTS' Kim Taehyung, also known as V, is starring in a spinoff of the reality show series "In the Soop," which will also feature Marvel star Park Seo-Joon.

The news came on the heels of the boyband's announcement that they will take a short break from group projects in order to focus on solo activities.

The upcoming four-episode series from BTS' management label HYBE is titled "In The SOOP: Friendship Trip." The limited series will feature the Wooga Squad comprising V, Joon, "Parasite" actor Choi Woo-Shik, "Happiness" star Park Hyung-Sik and rapper Peakboy.

South Korean outlet K-pop Herald tweeted the news Tuesday and said the new show is scheduled to air in July. The episodes will follow the activities of the Wooga Squad while they are on a four-day three-night vacation.

"V is launching an 'In The Soop' spinoff with his four best friends: actors Park Seo-joon, Choi Woo-Shik, Park Hyung-Sik and rapper Peakboy! Set to air in July via JTBC, the 4-episode series will show the five friends taking a 4-day-3-night vacation together," the tweet said.

The series will air on JTBC in South Korea. The producers of the show have not yet announced which platform will stream it globally.

"In The Soop," first aired in 2020, featured BTS members on a seven-day vacation at a lakeside villa, where they embarked on fishing and other outdoor activities. Season 2 showed the group at a newly-built mansion in an undisclosed location in South Korea. Season 2 premiered in October 2021 and showed members of BTS cooking, swimming, playing volleyball and spending moments with Jungkook's dog, Bambam.

The band broke a lot of hearts when it announced its members are taking a break from group activities to pursue individual endeavors. But the latest announcement regarding V's upcoming project with the Wooga Squad has cheered many. Still, others find it hard to believe that the septet will be taking an indefinite break from group projects.

"Wooga squad in the Soop??????? 4 days 3 night??????? bro if this is a dream don't wake me up," one fan wrote.

"They were not kidding when they said that chapter 1 of BTS' career just ended and a new one begins. Starting by July we'll be getting a lot of the member's solo agendas," another user said.
