‘Bull’ Season 2 Spoilers: Premiere Synopsis, Episode 1 Trailer Released
“Bull” is back!
The hit CBS drama had a highly-rated freshman run and is now back to take charge in its sophomore season. The Michael Weatherly-starring series returns Tuesday night with its Season 2 premiere, which will continue to follow Bull (Weatherly) as he and his trial consulting team take on legal cases using advanced technology and psychology tactics.
Here’s what the network says to expect in the Season 2 premiere episode:
“When Bull joins the district attorney in a case against Kara Clayton (Minka Kelly), who claims she killed her billionaire husband in self-defense, tensions run high when he learns that his on-again, off-again romantic interest, Diana Lindsay (Jill Flint), is defending the widow. Also, Chunk (Christopher Jackson) makes a decision about his future.”
Chunk has taken the LSATs and gotten into Vanderbilt Law School in Nashville, and he’s set on taking the spot and starting school in January. If he accepts his admission and moves, he’ll be leaving Bull and his job behind. As much as Chunk would like to stay in New York and continue to work for Bull, while taking law classes at night, he doesn’t think it’s an option that can really work. The main reason for that being the factor of cost.

The cost of living in New York City and paying for law school is too much for Chunk with what he is currently making and he’s honest about all of this with Bull. Will Bull find a way to give Chunk the raise he needs in order to stay? Surely the Season 2 premiere will answer just that.
While Bull has to handle the Chunk situation, he also has to deal with his sometimes-love interest Diana, who’s back in town and part of the opposing team in his current case. Flint, who plays the recurring character, just finished up the fourth season of her NBC series “The Night Shift” in August. There has been no news yet on whether the show will be picked up for a fifth season. But at least she always has this “Bull” role she can come back to, seeing as there will always be a need for an on-again, off-again love interest for Bull.

As if all that chaos and excitement isn’t enough for a season premiere, the episode’s guest star happens to be the delightful Kelly. She’ll be playing a widow who is charged with killing her husband, a fact that she doesn’t dispute. What she does say about it, though, is that she did it in self-defense. It will be up to Team Bull and Team Diana to fight it out and figure out if she’ll go down for the murder or get out of it as a free woman.
Kelly recently wrapped up a three-episode arc on “Jane the Virgin” earlier this year, and is now gearing up for her new superhero series “Titans.” The show is set to premiere in 2018. She’ll star as Dawn Granger/Dove, a vigilante who fights crime with Hawk (Alan Ritchson), her partner and boyfriend.
“Bull” Season 2 premieres on CBS on Tuesday at 9 p.m. EDT.
