Cadillac Unveils $300,000 Electric Car In Latest Test Of GM Brand
Cadillac on Monday unveiled the 2023 Celestiq, an electric vehicle that is the American automaker's most expensive to date and aims to re-establish General Motors' brand as a top luxury car.
The price tag starts at more than $300,000 and ends whenever the customer runs out of ideas for custom items.
Customers can customize nearly all aspects of the vehicle's interior trim, exterior color and other non-mechanical elements. Customers can work with designers and a Cadillac concierge to customize their vehicle, and even metal parts can be made to order using Cadillac's 3D printing capabilities.
Celestiq will also roll out Ultra Cruise, a hands-free driver assistance system that can navigate on surface streets as well as highways.
The Celestiq is massive at nearly 18 feet long and 7 feet wide, and is wider and longer than a standard Cadillac Escalade SUV.
Production of the Celestiq will begin late in 2023.
Cadillac has not announced when the Celestiq will go on sale.
