A 29-year-old California man has been arrested for murdering two women and livestreaming himself with their bodies.
Raymond Michael Weber of Sacramento was detained after a woman reported seeing a social media livestream showing a man with a gun inside an apartment with two unmoving bodies on the floor, said a report by Los Angeles Times.
According to Vacaville Police Department, the incident happened on Jan. 30 at the Rocky Hill Veterans Apartments located at 582 Rocky Hill Road.
"A woman called to report a man was inside an apartment and possibly armed. She stated the man had live-streamed himself on social media from inside the apartment. The video showed the man carrying a handgun and two women lying on the floor – not moving," said a Facebook post by the Vacaville Police Department.
The officers arrived at the scene and found that the suspect had barricaded himself inside the apartment, the post also said. The SWAT Team and Critical Incident Negotiation Team were then activated. The authorities tried to negotiate with the suspect but were unsuccessful.
Occupants of the other units in the apartment building were asked to evacuate as distraction devices and chemical agents were deployed at the scene to make the man surrender.
"Eventually, officers entered the apartment and after a brief struggle - during which an officer utilized a taser - the man was taken into custody at approximately 8:32 am," the post added.
Police found the bodies of two women in the apartment. While Vacaville police haven't released their identities, a Georgia woman said one of the victims may have been her daughter Savannah Theberge, who had been engaged to Weber. The woman said she fears it's her daughter, based on the victim's features and tattoos.
Vacaville Police Sgt. Kate Cardona said the victims are aged 27 and 15.
Weber, the older brother of local rapper Marcus Weber who goes by the name of "Uzzy Marcus," was questioned by the authorities in 2014 after his girlfriend Nichole Duarte was shot dead by his brother Antoine Weber. Raymond was believed to be there when the shooting happened. He is an Army veteran but is not an active-duty soldier at present.
Weber is currently being held without bail on two counts of first-degree murder. Solano County Jail records show that he is scheduled for a court appearance on Tuesday.
