'Call of Duty: Infinite Warfare' Sabotage DLC Expansion Detailed By Infinity Ward
Developer Infinity Ward has detailed the upcoming DLC expansion for “Call of Duty: Infinite Warfare,” called Sabotage. The expansion will include four new multiplayer maps and a new ’90s-themed Zombies map.
First up is the new multiplayer maps included in the Sabotage expansion for “Infinite Warfare.” The names of the new maps are Dominion, Noir, Neon and Renaissance. Infinity Ward said that Dominion is a re-imagining of the classic Afghan map from "Modern Warfare 2," but this time, it’s set on the planet Mars. Noir is inspired by a futuristic Brooklyn at nighttime. Renaissance is set in the streets of Venice, Italy where it’s populated with various architecture. Lastly, Neon is more like a virtual or digitize map where players dissolve into pixels when they’ve been defeated.
Zombies on “Infinite Warfare” introduces the new map called Rave in the Redwoods. Infinity Ward described the new Zombies experience as “a 1990s-slasher horror movie set in an old lakeside camp.” The new Zombies map seems to have been inspired by Camp Crystal Lake from the “Friday the 13th” film franchise, as pointed out by Game Rant.
“After finding a piece of the soul key, our heroes find themselves decked out in some tight, fly ‘90s attire and trapped in Willard Wyler’s biggest horror film of his career along with some special guests,” Infinity Ward said on the PlayStation Blog. “It’s a tense, spooky thrill ride with some shocking twists, surprises, and, of course, a slew of super fresh Easter eggs for players to discover.”
The Sabotage DLC expansion will be available on the PlayStation 4 first on Jan. 31, 2017, with the Xbox One and PC version to follow at a later date. Activision hasn’t revealed a release date for the Xbox and PC versions, but it’s expected to arrive about a month later.
