'Call of Duty: Modern Warfare 3 Campaign Remastered' Release Date Leaked
KEY POINTS
- A new leak about "Call of Duty: Modern Warfare 3 Campaign Remastered" surfaced online
- Leaks about the game have been around since 2019
- Activision has not yet confirmed that it's planning to release the game's remastered version anytime soon
Activision has not yet said anything about "Call of Duty: Modern Warfare 3 Campaign Remastered." However, an industry insider provided some information suggesting that the rumored title could arrive this year.
In a recent tweet, reliable industry insider TheMW2Ghost shared that video game publisher Activision is preparing to launch" Call of Duty: Modern Warfare 3 Campaign Remastered" sometime this year. Apparently, the game was originally scheduled for the second quarter of 2021, which falls in May. However, the insider claimed that they are not sure if it is still the case.
Another interesting detail about the leak is its claim that "Call of Duty: Modern Warfare 3 Campaign Remastered" would launch as a PlayStation timed-exclusive title. The insider added that the game would be exclusive to Sony's gaming console for a month. This is not surprising since Activision made the same strategy when it released "Call of Duty: Modern Warfare 2 Campaign Remastered" last year.
The game initially launched on PlayStation 4 before releasing on PC and Xbox a month later. While the insider is still uncertain about the game arriving in the second quarter of this year, they are confident that it is happening within 2021.
Sadly, it looks like the rumored title is another Campaign-only remaster. This means fans of "Call of Duty: Modern Warfare 3 Multiplayer" would not be getting a re-skinned version for now. This is not the first time that the industry hears something like this about the rumored remaster.
Industry insider ModernWarzone confirmed in November 2020 that "Call of Duty: Modern Warfare 3 Campaign Remastered" was in development. The insider later claimed in March 2021 that "Warzone's" Soap McTavish skin would be introduced through a bundle linked to every purchase of "Call of Duty: Modern Warfare 3."
These insiders have provided reliable information in the past. However, fans should still temper their expectations about "Call of Duty: Modern Warfare 3 Campaign Remastered." In the absence of official announcements from Activision, fans should take these claims as speculative.
Activision recently confirmed that it is working on a new "Call of Duty" title but said that it is not yet prepared to announce the game just yet.
