'Call Of Duty: Warzone' Introduce New Weapon Bundles
KEY POINTS
- Previously just a fun tool in the original "Call of Duty: Modern Warfare 2," the ice pick is now a melee weapon that can be used to finish off opponents
- New weapon bundles in the form of "Notice Me III" and "Wendigo" are also being introduced
- The classic One in the Chamber mode first introduced in 2010's "Call of Duty: Black Ops" is also being added to "Call of Duty: Modern Warfare"
As if audiences were not already hooked on “Call of Duty: Modern Warfare” and “Call of Duty: Warzone,” a couple of new microtransactions have been added this week.
The ice pick was previously a dual-wielding melee weapon that a player was never given the chance to kill anyone with for the original “Call of Duty: Modern Warfare 2.” Players could use it to climb up, break up, pick, or simply chip at the ice.
Now though, Gamespot reports that it is finally unleashed as a brand-new ice pick melee weapon that will finally allow players to finish off their foes in the most chilling way possible.
Aside from the ice pick news, several new bundles are also being introduced. With the “Notice Me III” bundle, a specialized sight, barrel, ammo, and rear grip will be available with the “Dream Dasher” SMG blueprint.
The “Wendigo” bundle takes its name from the mythological creature in Canada’s folklore where a person becomes a Wendigo after being corrupted by greed or weakened by extreme conditions. Appropriately enough with a name like that, the “Psychosis” assault rifle, the “Evil Manifest” SMG, and the “Crevasse” ice pick are part of the bundle, as is the “Taiga” operator skin for Sebastian Krueger.
Activision did not announce price points for these new bundles in their blog post, says Gamespot, but these are expected to go live soon. The game's other cosmetic bundles--of which there are many --range from around 800 Call of Duty Points to 1800 Call of Duty Points.
The classic party One in the Chamber mode is also being added to “Call of Duty: Modern Warfare.” This mode was originally introduced in 2010’s “Call of Duty: Black Ops,” and features some unique gameplay.
Every player gets a gun with one bullet and getting a kill earns another bullet. If you miss, however, you’ll need to melee to stay alive. One in the Chamber mode gives each player just three lives. The highest score wins the match, so it is important to be accurate and choose shots wisely or a swift defeat awaits your character.
The 50v50 Warzone Rumble deathmatch mode is staying in the game for the time being.
Developed by Infinity Ward and Raven Software and published by Activision, “Call of Duty: Warzone” is a free-to-play battle royale video game that is playable on Xbox One, PlayStation 4, and Microsoft Windows.
