Lobo
Lobo has allied and clashed with Superman. DC Comics

When SyFy aired the first trailer for season two of its DC show, “Krypton,” there was one character that immediately caught fans eyes. No, it wasn’t Superman, but the “ultimate bastich” in the galaxy, Lobo. The pale-skinned alien bounty hunter would be joining the show, but it isn’t known how or why he is there.

Regardless, SyFy isn’t planning to wait to give DC fans more of the cigar-chomping loudmouth.

SyFy announced plans to spin-off Lobo into his own show on Wednesday. While still in early stages, “Krypton” executive producer Cameron Welsh will be serving as an executive producer and writer on the new series. It is also believed that Emmett J. Scanlan, who plays Lobo in “Krypton,” will star in the spin-off.

For those unfamiliar, Lobo was originally introduced in 1983 as a villain in DC’s “Omega Men” series, which was a spin-off of “Green Lantern” and “Teen Titans.” However, his early incarnations were vastly different from his more famous biker-inspired look and acted as more of a traditional villain. It wasn’t until the 1990 miniseries, “Lobo: The Last Czarnian,” that he began to adopt his more famous look and tone.

Since then, Lobo has remained a staple of the DC Universe, regularly appearing in other comics as an anti-hero along with cartoons and video games. It was also reported in 2018 that WB was looking to bring Lobo to the big screen, eyeing Michael Bay to direct.
