Camila Cabello Ditching Album Name After Announcing Delayed Release Date
Although Camila Cabello’s solo career seems to be taking off since leaving the successful girl group Fifth Harmony almost a year ago, the singer’s album has had a few minor setbacks. The latest bump in the road seems to involve the “Havana” artist’s album title.
MTV UK reports that the 20-year-old will be scrapping the album’s original name, “The Hurting. The Healing. The Loving,” and plans on changing it to something else. During an interview, Cabello told the media outlet that due to her happier state of mind, she no longer believes the previous title applies to the album anymore.
Despite announcing the change, the “OMG” singer isn’t ready to reveal her new album title right away. “I’m not ready to talk about why yet,” she said.
“I always want my fans to be the first to know about those kind of things,” she explained.
Although she continued to remain mum on discussing the topic further, Cabello confessed that she already knows how she plans to reveal the big news to her fan base, known as the Camilizers. “I’m going to write a letter… and stuff,” she said.
“It’s complicated, but it’s going to be great,” Cabello added.
While fans will have to wait for the reveal of the album’s name, Cabello insisted that she is still on track to release her debut early next year, after announcing a delay in October.
The singer revealed that she pushed back the album, originally set for a fall release date, in order to ensure each song was up to her standards. “I think it’ll come at the top of next year. You know, you only have one chance to make a debut album and at this point, I have so many songs I’m passionate about,” she told Official Charts.
“You know those albums where they are clearly songs that aren’t as good as the singles I want every song to be single-worthy. I can’t imagine releasing something that isn’t that,” Cabello added.
Seeing as her album has been pushed back, it looks like Cabello still has a few more months to finalize her tracklist and create the perfect title for her solo debut.
