Over the years, there has been plenty of "Cinderella" movies, with a bit of twist and turns. But this time around, Camila Cabello is all set to give the age-old tale of the beloved orphan-turned-princess fairy tale a girl-boss-esque twist.

The trailer that was dropped Tuesday shows Elle chasing her dreams of making a life for herself rather than waiting for a prince to come to save her from her evil stepmother and step-sisters.

Written and directed by “Pitch Perfect” fame Kay Canon, this modern "Cinderella" shows the “Senorita” singer as an ambitious dressmaker who dreams of starting her own clothing line.

Idina Menzel plays the evil stepmother who threatens to throw Elle out upon finding out about her dreams.

Besides the storyline, this Amazon Original movie also sees a massive change in the familiar fairy godmother, which is being portrayed by Broadway star Billy Porter as “Fab G” a genderless fairy godparent.

In the scene right before the ball, Fab G replaces Cinderella’s gown with a respectable pantsuit, suitable for a businesswoman.

And finally when the dreamy prince played by Nicholas Galitzine asks her to join him in the castle, she says “What about my work? I don’t want a life stuck waving from a royal box any more than a life confined to a basement.”

The trailer surely promises to bring a fresh perspective to the classic fairy-tale. It’s still a musical, with a grand ball, and a charming prince, but it also promises a new kind of “Cinderella”

Hours before the trailer was launched, the “Havanna” singer shared a behind-the-scenes clip on Instagram, that showed the women behind this magical movie talking about the stereotypical statements they often hear.

“I am honored to work alongside this incredibly talented team of women on this musical reinvention of a classic ✨” She captioned the video.

The idea to create this feminist version of the story stemmed from “The Late Late Show” host James Corden who plays one of Cinderella’s mice and also serves as one of the producers. This role marks the 24-year-old singer’s debut in film acting.

“Cinderella” will be available to stream on Sept. 3 on Amazon Prime.
