Camilla Parker Bowles was recently praised by a royal expert after she showed off her lighthearted and funny side during an interview.

While speaking with 9 News Australia reporter Sophie Walsh, Camilla and Prince Charles were asked what’s more painful between losing the Ashes or the government. Before giving her answer, Camilla couldn’t help but ask Walsh what news channel she is from.

After telling the Duchess of Cornwall that she’s from channel 9, Walsh asked the royal to say hello to the viewers, and she did. After watching the clip of Camilla’s interview, royal expert Camilla Tominey praised Prince Charles’ wife.

“ Forget royal protocol, I’m not even mentioning the fact that you’ve been jibing us about the Ashes. Let’s just park that, I don’t want to talk about cricket. In your journalistic life you have to have a little bit of gumption and make a splash,” she said.

Tominey also said that if Kate Middleton and Meghan Markle were the ones being interviewed by Walsh, things would’ve been different because they are not as fun as Camilla.

“I applaud Sophie for this and they are just the right royal couple to do it with. Wouldn’t necessarily recommend it with Meghan and Harry, or indeed Kate and William. But the great thing about Charles and Camilla, particularly the Duchess of Cornwall, is she doesn’t mind having a bit of a laugh and a bit of banter. That’s what we saw on camera which is why they’re both great value,” the royal correspondent said.

Prince Charles and Camilla visited the whiskey distillery for a wine tasting session at the Bladnoch Distillery before playing a game of bowls at the coastal village of Garlieston. While there, it was evident that the royal couple had a blast.

And just last week, Camilla stepped out in public for the first time in months to attend the Braemar Highland Games with her husband and Queen Elizabeth II.
