Camilla Parker Bowles Borrows Queen Elizabeth’s Priceless Diamond Jewelry For Melania Trump Meeting
Camilla Parker Bowles borrowed Queen Elizabeth II’s diamond jewelry for her meeting with Melania Trump.
Earlier this week, the Duchess of Cornwall met Donald Trump’s wife Melania. For their meeting, Camilla opted to wear stunning jewelry from the royal collection.
Camilla stepped out in a pretty champagne-colored gown by Fiona Clare. It features sheer sleeves and V-neckline with small embroidered flowers. The duchess paired her gown with priceless jewelry from the Queen’s vault the Diamond Demi-Parure which she first used shortly after her wedding to Prince Charles, Express reported.
The set includes a necklace and earrings and each earring has 11 diamonds each. Meanwhile, the sparkling necklace has oval, marquise and pear-drop diamonds.
Camilla was last seen wearing the accessory at the Prince of Wales’ 70th Birthday Concert on Oct. 25, 2018. On the other hand, Melania wore a $6,300 red gown. Her skirt features a satin insert and pockets.
On Monday night, the royal family gathered together to join the state banquet that the Queen hosted for the Trumps. Prince Charles, Camilla, Prince William, Kate Middleton and Prince Harry were all present.
For the said gathering, Queen Elizabeth II arrived in a white gown and Burmese ruby and diamond tiara. She also paired it with a diamond necklace.
Camilla was as stunning in her Boucheron tiara that features three very large tapered diamonds. The Duchess of Cornwall also wore a white dress at the dinner.
Middleton arrived in an equally gorgeous Alexander McQueen white dress. The Duchess of Cambridge also wore a sparkling headpiece, her favorite Lover’s Knot tiara.
Queen Elizabeth II, Camilla, Middleton and Melania all wore white gown in the state banquet, but it turned out that their color coordination was more like a coincidence and not intentional. According to Town & Country magazine, there are no color requirements for women and ladies for a state banquet. Queen Elizabeth II favors white but this is not a rule and the attendees are not required to coordinate their outfits.
“The Queen and the Duchess of Cornwall more often than not wear white for a state banquet, which works best with sashes and jewels,” Joe Little said.
“There are no hard and fast rules. In the past, the Duchess of Cambridge has worn red or blue, but now she has a Royal Victorian Order sash to wear.”
