Camilla Parker Bowles May Skip Princess Eugenie’s Wedding For This Reason
Camilla Parker Bowles may skip Princess Eugenie’s royal wedding on Oct. 12 due to an upcoming engagement.
Prince Charles’ wife is scheduled to attend a school event near her Scottish home in Birkhall. Emily Andrews, a royal correspondent, shared the news with The Sun.
“When this date was proposed, she said that regrettably, she couldn’t come. The family understood, particularly Eugenie, and were fine about it owing to her previous commitment. Camilla didn’t want to let anyone down,” a source said.
A second insider claimed that Princess Eugenie, Prince Andrew, and Sarah Ferguson wanted Bowles to change her mind about not attending the royal wedding next week. But the Duchess of Cornwall told them that she has already committed to the school event.
“With events like Eugenie’s or Harry’s wedding, proposed dates are circulated so all senior royals can find one that all can attend. Often, if there are engagements in the calendar, a secretary will move them,” a senior royal aide said.
For instance, Prince Harry switched an appointment at short notice so that he could attend Prince George’s christening in 2013.
Meanwhile, Bowles may not be the only royal that will skip Princess Eugenie’s wedding. There have been multiple reports suggesting that Kate Middleton may not also attend if her younger sister, Pippa Middleton, will give birth on Oct. 12.
Pippa visited the Duchess of Cambridge at the hospital hours after she gave birth to her three children. By the looks of it, Middleton will return the sweet gesture if necessary.
Queen Elizabeth II, Prince Philip, Prince Charles, Prince William, Prince Harry, Meghan Markle, and the other members of the royal family are all expected to attend. Prince George and Princess Charlotte will also serve as a page boy and bridesmaid at the wedding.
Ferguson will also be reunited with Prince Philip at her daughter’s nuptials. The two royals, who are still at odds with each other, will also pose for a photograph to commemorate Princess Eugenie’s special day.
