Can iPhone 5 expect an easy victory in the UK market after Samsung Galaxy Z’s withdrawal?
Korean electronics giant Samsung has confirmed that the company will not sell its upcoming Galaxy Z smart phone in the UK.
A company spokesperson said that there are currently no plans to launch the smartphone in the UK market as the company has no intentions to replace the popularity of the Galaxy S series in the market.
The smartphone comes with a clear LCD compared to the previous AMOLED screens found in the Galaxy S series, and is both heavier and thicker than the S series smart phones.
The smartphone was previously spotted in Sweden via mobile phone operator Three Mobile and is available for £400 ($640.76), according to an ITProPortal report.
The news can come as a welcome break for Apple who are expected to launch the anticipated iPhone 5 as Samsung’s Galaxy Z was pitted against the iPhone 5 previously, till rumors about Samsung Hercules started.
The iPhone 5 will flash a 3.7-inch carved glass screen compared to Galaxy Z’s 4.2-inch WVGA screen, but the Apple-made phone is rumored to have an 8MP camera with dual-LED flash while the Samsung Z will have a 5-megapixel auto focus camera.
