#Cancelwwenetwork: Twitter Reacts To The Ending Of WWE Hell In A Cell's Main Event
Fans online voiced their outrage with WWE with #cancelwwenetwork following Hell in a Cell's main event match.
The outrage comes following the end of Sunday night’s Hell in a Cell pay-per-view main event that saw “The Fiend” Bray Wyatt challenging Seth Rollins for the WWE Universal Championship in a Hell in a Cell match. The match ended with the referee throwing the match out after Rollins chairs and ladders onto Wyatt before hitting the pile with a sledgehammer. Wyatt shot up after this and continued attacking Rollins to close the show, accompanied by a chorus of boos and AEW chants from the crowd in attendance.
Fans quickly took to Twitter to voice their anger with WWE, with #cancelwwenetwork trending near the top in the U.S. since late Sunday night.
Some users did decide to have some fun with the outrage. Others also said they plan to keep their subscription for the other content available they enjoy.
The main event wasn’t the only decision WWE made in the last week that appeared to get under fans’ skins. Friday’s premiere of SmackDown on FOX closed with Brock Lesnar facing Kofi Kingston for the WWE Championship. Lesnar beat Kingston in ten seconds to win the WWE title only to be attacked by former UFC Heavyweight Champion Cain Velasquez accompanied by Rey Mysterio. However, fans present in the Staples Center turned against this ending as well, with more AEW chants reportedly heard after the show went off the air.
It also marks the end of what has been an eventful week in the world of professional wrestling. Fans were treated to the debut of All Elite Wrestling Dynamite on TNT Wednesday that saw Jake Hager, FKA Jack Swagger in WWE, debut. WWE NXT also had its first two-hour live show on USA against AEW that saw Finn Balor and Tommaso Ciampa return with their eyes on NXT Champion Adam Cole. Both shows were received positively from fans and critics while AEW won the first week of ratings in what fans have referred to as the “Wednesday Night War.”
