In a Cinco de Mayo weekend battle between high-profile Mexican boxers, Julio Cesar Chavez Jr. seeks an upset over Canelo Alvarez. Alvarez, one of the top pound-for-pound boxers, enters Saturday's fight at T-Mobile Arena in Las Vegas as 1/6 favorite.

The fight is expected to have heavy attention consider Alvarez's reputation and Chavez's famous father. The two boxers, fighting at 164 pounds, are arguably the most well-known active Mexican boxers and they are set to tangle on Mexico's most famous holiday.

While Chavez has never fought on a Cinco de Mayo weekend, Alvarez defeated Amir Khan at about the same time last year and knocked out James Kirkland on May 9, 2015, and also held off Shane Mosley on Cinco de Mayo in 2012.

The HBO pay-per-view event begins at 9:00 p.m. ET with the cost at $59.99. HBO typically replays pay-per-view fights with weeks of the event.

The undercard includes David Lemieux (37-3, 33 KOs) vs. Marcos Reyes (35-4, 26 KOs) in a 10-round middleweight battle. Lemieux is considered one of the better boxers in the division, while Reyes went the distance in a decision with Chavez in July 2015.

Also, in a 10-round welterweight fight, Lucas Matthysse (37-4, 34 KOs) faces Emmanuel Taylor (20-4, 14 KOs). There is also a battle between undefeated featherweights when Joseph Diaz Jr. (23-0, 13 KOs) takes on Manuel "Tino" Avila (22-0, 8 KOs) in a 10-round fight.

The main event between Alvarez and Chavez is expected to begin well after 11 p.m.
