Cannes Film Festival 2012: Official Jury Announced
The 2012 Cannes Film Festival is on the horizon! Last Thursday the films set to be featured during the festival were announced. The inpressive line-up includes On the Road, Cosmopolis, and Killing Them Softly. It has been reported that such superstar couples as Kristen Stewart and Robert Pattinson as well as Angelina Jolie and Brad Pitt will be in attendance. Now the Cannes jury has been announced.
In an offical press release from the festival, the impressive jury was announced as follows:
Hiam Abbass (Palestinian actress, director)
Andrea Arnold (British director and scriptwriter)
Emmanuelle Devos (French actress)
Diane Kruger (German actress)
Jean Paul Gaultier (French designer)
Ewan McGregor (British actor)
Alexander Payne (American director, scriptwriter and producer)
Raoul Peck (Haitian director, scriptwriter and producer)
The 65th annual festival will kick off on May 16th and continue until the 27th. The jury is to decide which of the 22 films shown will recieve awards. This includes the prestigious Palme d'Or, which went to Tree of Life last year.
