'Captain America: Civil War's' Bucky Barnes Gets His Arm Trapped In Post-Credit Scenes Of 'Ant-Man'
Sebastian Stan made a brief appearance as Winter Soldier/Buckey Barnes in the post-credit scenes of “Ant-Man.” He was seen trapped with Steve Rogers/Captain America (Chris Evans) and Sam Wilson/ Falcon (Anthony Mackie) in a warehouse. His arm appeared to be trapped in a clamp. This scene will reportedly feature in the coming Marvel film “Captain America: Civil War,” and Stan says his hand will be locked by one of the characters.
“I think [what Bucky was caught in was] more of a vise. But it would never happen at his own hand, by his own doing. In terms of that scene in 'Ant-Man,' I've seen some of the ideas people have about it and I would say that whatever you're seeing on the surface, it's not as obvious as that. There might be a whole lot more to the scene. I would say someone would probably want to put him in a vise,” he said to Buzzfeed.
Stan’s character is a master of hand-to-hand combat, which could explain why his hand has been locked. According to Movie Pilot, Evans' character may lock him to do his brainwashing, or it is possible that someone from Hydra takes him as a captive and Rogers and Wilson find him. The context of the scene will be revealed once “Captain America: Civil War” comes out.
Meanwhile, according to the film’s co-director Joe Russo, a lot of angles pertaining to Stan’s character will be explored.
“What’s left to explore, obviously, is the personality of the character, much the way that [Ed] Brubaker’s run did after Winter Soldier regained a semblance of his past. Philosophical questions that we would want to deal with in Cap 3 would be, you know, is he redeemable? Where does he live now? ” Russo told Collider.
“Captain America: Civil War” is being shot in Atlanta. The events in the film have been set after “Avengers: Age of Ultron.” It also stars Robert Downey, Scarlett Johansson, Paul Bettany, Jeremy Renner, Don Cheadle, Elizabeth Olsen and Paul Rudd. Kevin Feige is producing it and it opens May 6, 2016, in 3D and IMAX.
