Cardi B couldn't help but let out her inner fangirl after learning that "You" star Penn Badgley gave her a shoutout in an interview.

On Sunday, the "WAP" rapper quote-retweeted a video of Badgley from a fan at Netflix's "In Conversation with YOU" event. In the clip, the 34-year-old actor praised Cardi's "authentic relationship" with social media — and she reacted in disbelief.

"OOOOMMFFFGGGGGG HE KNOWS ME!!! OMMMGGGG!!!!!! Yoooo like I'm famous famous," the 29-year-old rapper tweeted with a series of screaming emojis.

Fans and followers of Cardi kindly reminded the artist that she was already famous.

"You would [think you knew you] were famous with the 3 [certified] Diamond songs you have, but sure," one fan wrote, while another added, "Or, you know, the 112 million people that follow you on Instagram."

"You would think she would know that, especially with the amazing music, beautiful family and hilarious personality, but sure, Penn counts too, I guess," another netizen wrote, adding laughing and heart emojis.

Another Twitter user referenced Badgley's stalker character on Netflix's hit psychological thriller, writing, "He probably knows you more than you know yourself."

In the video, Badgley, 34, spoke about the negative ways in which his "You" character, Joe Goldberg, uses social media, which include hiding his crimes and leading investigations away from him or, as shown in the third season, his wife Love (Victoria Pedretti). Badgley admitted that in real life, he isn't as social savvy.

While the actor believes his social media attempts are "pathetic," he praised Cardi as a pro when it comes to using platforms.

"I really appreciate people who have this totally second-nature relationship to it, because that's when you have something meaningful and substantive to post, then I think it really comes through and people appreciate it all the more. Cardi B is a great example of that. She has such an authentic relationship," Badgley said.

He added of the rapper, "To me, it's this incredibly nuanced place to be, and despite what many might judge as antics, I feel she has an incredibly authentic relationship to that, and I think that's why people like her so much."

The "Gossip Girl" alum later quote-retweeted Cardi's response to his shoutout and indicated his shock at her hilarious reaction.

The interaction continued Wednesday as Cardi tagged Badgley in a video on Twitter of a little boy who gets up close to the camera and asks, "Is that you? Is that me?" He adds, "No that's not!"

Cardi also changed her profile picture to a photo of Badgley's character from "You." Badgley followed suit and changed his to a picture of the artist.
