Cardi B expressed her desire to connect with Meghan Markle after winning her defamation lawsuit against YouTuber Tasha K.
The "WAP" singer took to Twitter after her legal victory and wrote, "I need a chat with Megan Markle." Cardi made the post shortly after being awarded $4 million in her lawsuit against Tasha K, whose real name is Latasha Kebe.
Cardi B sued Tasha K in 2019 over dozens of videos with disturbing claims against her. When the trial kicked off Jan. 10, the rapper admitted she felt "suicidal" in the wake of Kebe's videos, adding that "only an evil person could do that s--t." The jury also held Kebe liable for invasion of privacy through portrayal in a false light and intentional infliction of emotional distress.
Markle also scored a major victory in her privacy and copyright infringement case against the Associated Newspapers in December for publishing her letter to her father, Thomas Markle Sr. Just like Cardi, Markle has been subjected to various criticisms online.
Earlier this year, Patrick J. Adams shaded Markle's "bots" debating about her and involving him in the conversation. In a tweet, Markle's "Suits" co-star informed them that "1. I don't read any of it. 2. Life is short. 3. There has ... got to be better things for you to be doing."
Twitter users reacted to Cardi B's tweet, and they have mixed opinions on her effort to reach out to the Duchess of Sussex. Some approved of it because they believed it would be a good platform for them to share their experiences.
"Woot hope you can help her out. Cause this is getting ridiculous with the hate accounts," one wrote.
"In case people didn’t know, Cardi has won her defamation lawsuit against YouTube video blogger Latasha Kebe & she was awarded roughly $4 million in federal court. Meghan has been bullied since 4 years now by people that spread lies about her. We need this conversation to happen!" another added.
"Fantastic move. Cardi B please get a coalition of movement of others who are facing this situation. Meghan Markle, Serena Williams, Simone Biles, Beyonce & Kamala Harris .... it's time to get these platforms to do something," a third user commented.
Meanwhile, others made various speculations about Markle. Some said Cardi B should reach out because the duchess has no friends. Another warned the rapper that Markle might lie to her.
"She needs a friend, she’s ghosted all her other ones," one user wrote.
"Why? She will lie [to] you," another netizen added.
