French first lady Carla Bruni showed off her rounded belly at G8 Summit in Deauville, northern France, on Thursday. That made it quite obvious that the rumors of her pregnancy are true.

The former Italo-French model was wearing a loose-fitting white smock dress which at times stretched over an obvious bump around the midriff, Reuters reported. She also wore a black dress for the dinner that revealed her pregnancy.

Both Carla and French President Nicolas Sarkozy have avoided commenting on pregnancy reports, but last week a German newspaper quoted Sarkozy's father as confirming the reports.

The two do not want to know the gender in advance, but I'm sure it will be a girl and as beautiful as Carla, Bild newspaper quoted Pal Sarkozy as saying.

Italian-born Bruni has a son from a former relationship. It would be her second child and Sarkozy's fourth child after the three sons he has from two former marriages.
