Known for her almost-consistent style statements which include finely tailored trousers and neatly tucked blouses; Carla Bruni-Sarkozy's recent loose fit outfits are fuelling rumors about a possible pregnancy.

The former Italo-French singer and model has neither confirmed nor denied reports about her pregnancy declining to answer any questions by the media.

In an interview, the 43 year old French first lady retorted I want to try and protect my private life and family life as much as possible. That's what I'm trying to do. I know that people understand me. I too have the right to a little protection of my private life. I do not wish to answer questions of a private, family or physiological nature.

Bruni's decision to skip the Cannes festival for private and professional reasons has further added fuel to the fire and many are awaiting an official announcement by Sarkozy and Bruni.
