Carly Waddell Struggling To Adjust To ‘The New Normal’ After Evan Bass Split
Carly Waddell is having a hard time adjusting to her new normal after she and Evan Bass announced their split on Wednesday following three years of marriage.
Waddell opened up to her Instagram followers over the holiday about how different things felt now that she is unable to spend Christmas with her children because they were celebrating the holiday with Bass.
The “Bachelor in Paradise” alum shared a photo of herself holding her and Bass’ kids Charles “Charlie” Wolf, and Isabella “Bella” Evelyn.
“Christmas Day isn’t what I had excepted this year. The three of us. The new normal. Which feels incredibly abnormal, and actually very sad. A lot of you kind people have asked if I’m ok. And I want to say I am, but I’m not,” she wrote in the caption.
“I will be though. Today is the first day that both kids are staying at Evan’s house overnight. I feel like I’m missing a piece of my soul. But I’m thankful that it was a white Christmas, and I’m thankful the kids all get to be having a blast with their dad and brothers. They are feeling so loved. Thank you for checking on me. Love all of you.”
The couple, who met during “Bachelor in Paradise” Season 2, got married in August 2017. The stars shared news of their separation in a statement to People.
“We have made the difficult decision to separate,” the former couple said in a joint statement.
“We will always cherish our time together and continue to have the utmost respect for one another as we focus on what’s best for the future of our family. We greatly appreciate everyone’s love and support and kindly ask that you please respect our family’s privacy as we navigate through this.”
The former couple’s joint statement was released hours after Bass’ birthday celebration from which Wadell was noticeably absent. On Tuesday night, Bass shared a photo of himself and his five children on his Instagram Story.
“My loves,” was written across the family photo.
Along with the two children Bass shares with Waddell, the 38-year-old is also a father to three sons, Nathan, Liam, and Ensley, from a previous relationship.
Earlier this year, Waddell and Bass joked about how their relationship wouldn’t survive having any more children.
During an episode of Wadell’s “Mommies Tell All” podcast, the 35-year-old reality star revealed a fortune teller predicted she would have more kids.
“The other day when I was talking to this card reader, she read my cards, like, five times, and she said twice that we were gonna have another baby,” she told her husband during the episode.
“I don’t think that we should because I’m tired,” she added.
Bass revealed he didn’t think the couple would have much of a future if they had another kid. “I don’t think we’d make it if we had another. … We would make it for a little while longer, but … they would probably lead to different paths,” he said.
Three months after the birth of their second child, Bass revealed he would be getting a vasectomy.
Although the news has shocked Bachelor Nation viewers, over the last few weeks, some fans noticed Waddell and Bass unfollowed each other on Instagram. The two have not been heavily featured on one another’s page in recent months. Bass’ last post of Waddell was in June.
