Carmelo Anthony will probably fail to garner many Most Valuable Player votes this season, but the Knicks star sure played like one in New York's magical overtime win over Derrick Rose and the Chicago Bulls at Madison Square Garden on Sunday, 100-99.

Anthony hit two clutch three-pointers from roughly the same spot, with one propelling the Knicks to overtime, and the other to give New York the lead with 8.2 seconds left in overtime.

On the other hand, Rose, who returned to the Bulls after being sidelined for 12 games due to a strained groin, failed to respond with a score following Anthony's shots.

Anthony finished with 43 points on 16-of-31 shooting, and also grabbed seven rebounds. Rose, who appeared rather rusty, converted just eight of his 26 shots, but still finished with 29 points.

The Knicks and Bulls may face each other in the first round of the Eastern Conference playoffs. The Bulls are currently in first place, while the Knicks are in a tight race with the Philadelphia 76ers for the seventh of eight spot.
