Carrie Fisher’s Daughter Billie Lourd To Receive Mom’s Assets Including Bank Accounts, Estate
Carrie Fisher’s only daughter, Billie Lourd, will be the sole recipient of all of her assets.
According to People, all of Fisher’s belongings have been outlined in a court document, and it includes the actress’ bank accounts, jewelry, collectables, art works, a life insurance policy, an estate, full ownership of several LLCs and a 2016 Tesla S. Additionally, Lourd will also inherit the rights to her mom’s image and likeness, intellectual property rights and proceeds from her books, trademarks, specials and copyrights.

In September, Fisher’s brother, Todd Fisher, will be holding an auction of some of the actress’ memorabilia. This will include her life-size statue as Princess Leia from “Star Wars,” her personalized director’s chair from “Star Wars: Return of the Jedi” and more. Portions of the proceeds will go straight to Fisher’s late mom, Debbie Reynolds’ charities, The Thalians and The Jed Foundation. Both charities were chosen by Lourd as recipients of the partial proceeds.
Meanwhile, not all of Fisher’s assets have been accounted for in her will before she passed away. But the actress’ lawyers are arguing that whatever else hasn’t been mentioned should be incorporated into the trust, which Lourd is the beneficiary. Bruce Givner, an attorney and estate planning expert, told People that it is highly likely for the court to allow Fisher’s attorneys to handle these things.
“What they’re really trying to do is avoid giving the court jurisdiction over the matter and trying to avoid probate fees and costs. By doing this the court will not have jurisdiction, and you won’t have to wait the nine months or so it would take the courts to sort through everything,” he said.
Fisher passed away on Dec. 27, 2016, a few days after she suffered a heart attack while on board a plane from London to Los Angeles. Last month, the actress’ real cause of death was revealed to be sleep apnea and drug use. At the time, Lourd released a statement to People acknowledging the fact that her mom has struggled with drug addiction for several years. “My mom battled drug addiction and mental illness her entire life. She ultimately died of it,” she said.
