Casey Anthony Sentenced 4 Years in Jail, Maximum Sentence for Lying
Casey Anthony has been sentenced 4 years in prison, lying to investigators.
Each of the four misdemeanor counts Casey was convicted of carries a maximum of one year in jail, said Reuters before the sentencing. It means that the maximum sentence was imposed on Anthony.
Having served nearly three years in prison, Anthony will get credit for the term and could be freed late July or early August.
On July 5th, Casey Anthony murder trial came to a surprising conclusion. 12 jurors delivered the verdict, finding Casey Anthony not guilty of all counts except for providing false information to law enforcement officers. Anthony had been charged for murdering her 2-year-old daughter Caylee in 2008 summer, and could have faced death sentence if convicted.
